Cincinnati LGBTQ Counseling

Is LGBTQ Counseling for Me?

If you’ve read any of the other pages on the site, you have some idea of how I work and who I work with. Your reasons for considering counseling might be addressed in the Couples, Individuals or Mens pages, but they might not. Being LGBTQ can add additional layers of complexity and nuance to everyday life issues & problems. It’s similar, but not the same, and I understand that.

Maybe you think:

  • The relationship advice out there doesn’t really apply to your situation.
  • Your straight friends “just don’t get it”, and your LGBTQ friends are as confused as you are.
  • You’ll be misunderstood or judged by a straight therapist.

Therapy can help!

I offer a judgment-free space to look at how your sexuality, sexual identity, and gender identity impact all areas of your life: work, friendships, faith, relationships, parent/child dynamics, neighbors…you name it, it can be an issue, especially here in Cincinnati. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my adopted hometown, but I have an outsider’s perspective about Cincinnati. I see how difficult it can be to be different here, and I can help you figure out how to navigate your way to a happier, healthier life.

What can I expect?

Whether you’re struggling with coming out, being part of a couple, parenting your own or your partner’s children, work stresses, or some other issue, I can help you figure out how to make changes that maintain your dignity, your individuality, and your integrity while also getting you what you want in your life.

I hope you’ll call or email me for a free 15 minute phone consultation or to set up a session.
